Experience a Destination Unlike Any Other
In the heart of the South Pacific, the Grand Pacific Hotel once established the standard of luxury that was fit for Kings and Queens. Now, one hundred years later, it has raised that standard once again to unprecedented levels. Experience for yourself a destination of distinction unlike any other.
Suva is the heart of Fiji and its metropolitan area is literally home to half of Fiji’s population. Suva is the largest city in the South Pacific Islands and serves as an important regional centre. Suva’s urban milieu is rich with the culture and traditions from almost every Pacific Island Nations and also boasts a culture and demographic of rich Indian traditions. It officially became the capital of Fiji in 1877 following the annexation of the Fiji Islands by the United Kingdom.
Suva is on a peninsula about 3km wide by 5km long, with Laucala Bay to the east and Suva Harbour to the west. Most of the peninsula is hilly, apart from the narrow strip of land on the western edge of the city where you’ll find Suva’s main drag, Victoria Parade (which holds many of the city’s restaurants, shops and clubs), as well as the market and wharf.
It is on Victoria Parade, Suva that you will find Fiji’s 100 year old irrepressible Grand Pacific Hotel.
