We are privately located on the tip of Ucuilagi Point. Translated into English from the original Fijian name, Ucuilagi means ‘Heavenly Point’. The original Fijians aptly named this bit of paradise, as it is the only location in Matei that has stunning 180-degree panoramic ocean views, overlooking the Somosomo Strait and our neighboring islands across the way. We are on a point above the best and largest white sandy beaches in Matei (one of them is extremely private). Some of the best offshore snorkeling in the world is within 100 feet of your first step into the cool, calm lagoon directly below us. The property graces four acres with manicured gardens filled with tropical flowers, fruits, and native birds.
We strive to give our guests the best of both worlds; the privacy of a homestay with the amenities of a resort at an affordable price, so they can design their vision of their holiday. Each of our accommodations include 24-hour power, Wi-Fi for email downloads, private phone with free local calls, and a DVD player with hundreds of free movies. Indoor hot water shower/bath with panoramic views. They include bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, linens and beach towels. Outside is a cool and refreshing semi-enclosed rock shower, accented by a tropical garden. Cook up a simple meal on the deck kitchenette complete with it’s own gas burner stove top, refrigerator and utensils. Alternatively, you can dine in our galley restaurant. We also provide an electric stand-up fan, screened windows and a mosquito net. A daily maid service and full-time Fijian staff and a concierge is on standby to look after your special needs. The staff will gladly do a load of your personal laundry for you for a cost of $10.00FJD (that you pay to them directly). Free transfers to and from the Matei airstrip on Taveuni.
